Junior Athletics 2013
We had the junior athletics in Palmerston yesterday. It was a beautiful day and everyone tried their very best, well done.

Holidays with Rafi
We went with Rafi for the school holidays this time. We left school early and went to the airport. They had lunch while waiting for the plane, Coco was dancing around the airport while they waited on their lunch to come. Then the plane arrived, it was time to go. Our bags got put through airport security and we got on the plane. Once we took off we ordered sprite, a cookie, a water (one with ice, two without ice) and Rafi's brother watched a movie called the Sorcerers Apprentice. We watched the horizen while we flew. Once we got to Auckland we meet Rafi's Uncle. He got our bags and we went to Luca's house.
We went to Muriwai, did you know that Rafi was born there? We saw Rafi's placenta tree, it was a kowhai. It had yellow flowers and then for Kahlil's birthday we went to Waitomo caves, where we sent some postcards to school.
We had such a big trip that we couldn't remember it all. We do remember that when we arrived back here in Karitane that we went to Gus's birthday party, it was lots of fun.

We are becoming a real part of Rafi's family!
This was, I think, the third weekend that we have been home with Rafi. We walked home with Rafi and his brother Kahlil and played cricket once we got to their house. Rafi's dad joined in with use too!
We did some other stuff too, but we can't remember what it was. (We are always so so busy, it's easy for us to forget)
We watched Monsters Universe then we were really tired so we went to bed. The next day Rafi had so many visitors, like Irie and Wil and loads of other people.
We always enjoy going to Rafi's house, thank you so much for having us again.

Eva's weekend
On Friday we went home with Eva. Once we got home we went to the shop and got a pack of lollies. Eva shared her's with Charge. Then we went home and Charged played skiing on the furniture. It was then time to go to swimming lessons with Eva and Sam. While they were swimming we got to have cuddles with Sala and play on the iPod.
On Saturday we woke up and had breakfast and got dressed, then we went to the playground on our bikes. In the middle of the journey we got to jump in a flax hut and when we got out of the flax hut we got to go down the hill in Sam's backpack. It was supreme!
On Sunday we headed of to town where Sam got some roman sandals that were black. Eva got some green and black jandals. We had miso soup and udon noodles for lunch - yum!
Eva and Sam went to their cousin Carter's party at Moana Pool. We played races along the streets and then had cupcakes, lollies and some birthday cake! After that we went zooming down the hydroslide.

Weekend with Summer
We went to Summer's house for the weekend. We played in the baby carrier and then we ate dinner. We even had dessert, it was yum! After dinner we went to bed.
On Saturday we were so tired that we stayed in bed...all day!
On Sunday we went to Summer's friends birthday party at the beach and we had yummy hot dogs.

Weekend with Jamaica
On Friday we went to Jamaica's house, we had spring rolls for dinner and we looked at the family while we were eating.
On Saturday morning we got to watch the Smurf's in bed with Jamaica, it was really relaxing.
On Sunday we went to granddad's house and we had a big hot chocolate and we helped in Granddad's garden.

Weekend with Irie
In the weekend we went with Irie and his family to the final of the NHL (National Ice Hockey League). His brother Paris was playing for the Dunedin Thunder team and they got into the finals for the first time since it has started.
We loved going to the game with them, except Coco thought that Thunder was leaves and banana's because they are green and yellow.
The Thunder came second in the NHL and played an awesome game. We reckon that next year they are going to win!
Thanks for a great weekend Irie and family. Can't wait to visit again.

Weekend with Archie
In the weekend we went to Archie's house. We have been to Archie's house before and we are getting to know our way around. This weekend they dressed us up! Coco wore a pink dressing gown and Charge wore a black feather boa, Charge thought that it was so soft!
We made a house to live in for the weekend, it was near the kitchen. The roof was the house ceiling, the floor and the garden was blanket. We loved playing inside our hut, we had to because it rained all weekend.
We had a great time with Archie, thanks heaps!

Weekend with Ella
On Friday we played on the hammock and Ella took pictures of us with Louis. Coco decided that he wanted to climb a tree, so he did.
On Saturday we went for a walk and a bike ride and we the way went was a long way and Coco grabbed onto a branch and did a front flip, it was awesome to watch.

Term 2 Holidays with Liam
What an extra surprise we had on the friday before the holidays! We found out that we needed to be packed up quickly because we were going on holiday with Liam and his family! We were so excited and couldn't wait for an adventure.
16 - 19 July
We went to Liam's Nona's and relaxed. Liam had some ski lessons but he didn't like it so played in the snow tunnels at Mt Hutt instead. We stayed in the car and kept warm for the day, it was really cold outside and we are still getting use to seeing snow!
20 July
Liam's family woke up early, so did we, and went to the airport to catch a plane to Wellington. The plane was a really big Air NZ plane. Then when we got to Wellington we had to wait for ages for the campervan that the family had got. After we got the campervan we went to TePapa and Liam really like the Dodo and the 4D movie that we saw, we really like the map of NZ, we could even see Karitane.
21 July
We went to pick up Liam's dad from the airport and then went and rode the cable car. After that we walked (or should we say Liam carried us) up 253 steps to the Cape Pallisen Lighthouse.
22 July
We slide down sand dunes at Castle Point and walked to another light house, it was such a lovely sunny day! We really like sliding down the sand dunes, but we got sand every where, Charge even had it in his ears and couldn't get it out, he was stomping all over the place trying to get it out, in the end Liam's mum help him get the sand out.
23 July
We went to see the rare white Kiwi at Pukaha, Mt Bruce. She was very easy to see in the dark. Liam's sisters wanted to leave us there with the Kiwi, but we made sure that we were right beside Liam the whole time so that they couldn't get us. When we got to the holiday park we played tag on a jumping pillow, it was heaps of fun.
24 July
Today was raining and drizzling. We went to the National Aquarium of NZ, where Liam saw lots of animals. Liam's favorite was the stingrays, penguins, the turtles, alligators and we loved seeing the Nemo fish! After that we went to the marina and had fish and chips, they were so yummy! After we went to the Craters of the Moon, they were super smelly.
We were a bit worn out after a busy day so we had a nap in the campervan while Liam and his family soaked in the thermal pool and went down the water slide until it was their bedtime.
25 July
Today Liam's family did the 1Km long, 170m high flying fox. They said it was so fast that their eyes watered really badly. Liam was to young so he went on the 80m hydrolift instead. They said that we were to little so we had to watch all the action from the bottom, that made us sad, specially since I'm a monkey and can climb really high!
26 July
Today was the last day of our adventure with Liam and his family, we helped pack up the campervan and then we all got back on the plane and flew to Christchurch. Once we got there we made our way back down the coast to Karitane.
Thank you so much for taking us on holiday Liam and his family. We had such a blast and it was good to see some more of the country!
We are going to Ella's this weekend. We can't wait to have some fun with her.

Weekend with Bella
We went to Bella's house this weekend, Mrs Williams had to drop us off their because Bella wasn't very well.
We slept in Bella's bed all weekend and we went to the library one of the days too. Bella and Chloe got some books out and we had a look at some. After the library we went to the park and then home to watch Despicable Me, we loved that movie!
We really enjoyed staying with Bella and Chloe, we can't wait to go back again!

Weekend with Reuben
We went to Reuben's again this weekend. We love going to his house cause we always do something that we have never done before. This time was no different.
We went on their boat, the Kaipipi, with them and their cousins Eva and Fern. It was Reuben's mum's birthday and they had lots of fun!

Weekend with Liam
We went home with Liam a day early because we were scared that we would have to stay at school all by ourselves if it snowed, brrrr.
On Thursday afternoon, Coco, Liam and I, Charge, watched Jack the Giant slayer it was gross.
On Friday morning we were very very hungry, I, almost ate a whole carrot! In the afternoon Coco, Jenna, Liam and Jenna's friend Gabby watch the movie Epic, we thought that it was awesome!
The rest of the weekend was cold and yucky, Liam's soccer was cancelled so we help him and his dad clean out the garage, man there was a lot of rubbish! We were suppose to go to Invercargill on Sunday because Taylor, Liam's Sister, got into the Otago Netball Team, but it was cancelled too.
We kept ware by the fire and we sat in Liam's cat bed to stay extra snuggly but his cat Nutmeg was a bit angry.

Night with Evelyn
We went home with Evelyn for the night because she missed out on her weekend with us. Her family was so happy to see us and we enjoyed meeting their family, specially the twins and Truby!
We had su much fun, Truby looked after me, Coco, all the time that I was at there place. Evelyn told us that she loved us so much.
We so would love to go and play at their house again soon!

Weekend with Gus
This weekend we went to Gus's house. When we got there we discovered that Gus had a new puppy, his name is Louie. We played with him for but Gus was worried that Louie would chew us but it turned out that we were great friends!
On Saturday morning we went out for breakfast with Gus's family, then we went to the art gallery to look at painting. Gus took some photo's of us and his mum and dad helped him write a poem about us. Here it is...

Weekend with Nikki
Friday
We went to Nikki's Nana's bus and got a lollipop and then we went to big Ella's house and stayed the night.
Saturday
We went to town with Nikki and her family and went to the park. We played on the seings and the monkey bars, then we stayed at Nikki's Uncle Gary's house.
Sunday
We all went to Tunnel Beach and got fish and chips. Then Dad picked us up to go back to Nikki's house.
Monday
When we woke up we watched Kungfu Panda with Nikki and her family. It was Aunty Racheal's (Nikki's Aunty) birthday today. So we had a big roast dinner with her family and then we had a strawberry pavlova! Yum!
We had to go back to the Junior Room on Tuesday so it was an early night for us! We where so tired after all that excitement over the weekend! Thanks Nikki and your family for having us! We had a great time.

Weekend with Kutlo
Friday May 24th
Today was a good day! We could not wait to go to Kutlo's house. When we got there we had a tour around his house and we watched Spongebob on TV. After that we went out for dinner to the Golden Fleece, we meet up with Rafi too!
Saturday May 25th
Another fun day today. We went for a walk and sat in the stroller with Skylar! That was so much fun we enjoy hanging out with Skylar too. The moon was so big and bright too.
Sunday May 26th
Today we had a lazy day indoors. We watched TV by the fire and then we took a drive to Palmerston for ice creams! We loved our one so much!

Another weekend with Eliza
On Friday we went home again with Eliza. She told us that she got Celebrity of the week again for falling over at the Triathlon and getting up and carrying on then coming 2nd! We couldn't believe that she did that, we wouldn't be so tough!
When we got to Eliza's house we went for a walk to the beach. We looked for shells and we found some really pretty ones. On Friday night we slept with Eliza and her Dad kept pushing us out of the bed, it was really annoying!
On Saturday we went for a walk to the beach again, this time we went to the river too. We played in the water at the river. It was really cold!
On Sunday we were so tired that we didn't want to get out of bed, so we didn't. We slept all day. We feel so much better for the sleep!

Holidays with Mrs Williams
Man we have had such a relaxing holiday. For the first week we hung out at school. We had so much fun, we slept in each day and got to explore the Robot curtain, like we see the children sometimes.
In saying this we were so excited to see Mrs W on the Friday of the first week. When she arrived she gave us some big hugs and we helped her shift the classroom around. We are looking forward to seeing how everyone likes it when you get back. We then went to town with Mrs W, she had her hair done and we went window shopping. She took ages in the hairdresser! We had Subway for lunch and then went to Mrs W's house for dinner. She had a busy weekend that weekend, so we decided to relax and stay at her house infront of the fire.
This week we went into school on Monday with Mrs W. When we got there we found our last butterfly had hatched.
We spent the day planning for the term and getting around our newly arranged classroom.
On Wednesday we spent the hanging out on Mrs W's back deck. We climbed trees, played with the cat and enjoying the sunshine. Tomorrow we are heading to Central Otago for a couple of days.
We are looking forward to getting back to school and seeing everyone.

Weekend with Harlan
We went home with Harlan on Friday, when we got to his house we went bungee jumping and had a picnic, in Harlan's back yard. We had two buns, some yoghurt and some biscuits.
On Saturday we went to the park, we really enjoyed it. We got pushed on the swings and then we went down the slide.
On Sunday we had a big adventure with Harlan's family. We went all the way to Taiaroa Heads, down the Peninsula. We explored the old army base and we saw 3 seals. Harlan said that Sammi his sister saw a dolphin! We wish we could have seen it!
We had such a great weekend with Harlan and his family. We are going home with Mrs W over the holidays, so make sure that you look out to see what we have done with her!

On Sunday we had a big adventure with Harlan's family. We went all the way to Taiaroa Heads, down the Peninsula. We explored the old army base and we saw 3 seals. Harlan said that Sammi his sister saw a dolphin! We wish we could have seen it!
We had such a great weekend with Harlan and his family. We are going home with Mrs W over the holidays, so make sure that you look out to see what we have done with her!

Easter with Josh...
We went home with Josh for the weekend and we were SO busy that we didn't get to write much about the weekend.
We went home on Thursday this time because it was Easter Weekend! When we got to Josh's house we had a ride on Bonny their dog, Bonny didn't like us being on her and she went wild! Although we though it was pretty cool!

Weekend at Reuben's...
On Friday we went home with Reuben and Brook, we didn't have to go far though! Reuben's Granny gave us some money to go to the shop with, we brought an ice block and a fizzer, they were yummy!
We had a great time with Reuben on Saturday! In the morning we had pancakes, Yum! Then we went with Reuben, Brook and their Dad to Brook's music lesson. After we got back we played Lego with Reuben.
On Sunday we went fishing with Reuben, on his boat the Kaipipi. We caught a baby barracuda.
We had such a fun time with Reuben! We can't wait for our weekend with Josh.

Woah what a busy week!
Hey there guys!
We had a great time with Reuben! We have lots of stories to tell you after the long weekend, but we have had a really busy week and haven't had time to put up a post, we are sad that we can't share last weekend with you just yet.
We are heading home with Josh today, we are looking forward to a weekend on the farm.

Weekend with Eva
After school on Friday we went to Eva's. She took us to the hairdresser and we watched Eva and Sam get a hair cut then we got a yummy treat.
It was Saturday the next day and we went to Sam's music and we were choosing the songs, after that we went to the Farmers Market and it was busy! We got some peaches.
On Sunday we went to the skate park. We played Monopoly with Sam, Eva and Mrs Hay and Coco won! The family could hardly believe it!
We are looking forward to spending the weekend with Eva. Remember it's a long weekend so we will be back on Tuesday!

Weekend with James
On Friday we went home with James and we ate pizza for dinner and played some games.
On Saturday we went to Toitu Museum and went to Nana and Grandad's. We went to a party and James found a boy called James to play with.
On Sunday we played cricket with James.

Weekend with Eliza
On Friday we went home with Eliza and she showed us her garden.
On Saturday when we woke up we found out it was Eliza's birthday!! We said a BIG happy birthday to her and then we went to Moana Pool and then for dinner, where we had pizza. After dinner we had a walk in the botanical gardens. We listened to Music!
We had such a busy weekend with Eliza, helping her celebrate her birthday!

Weekend with Rafi
On Friday we went home with Rafi and had a great time! We even saw a hedgehog! For dinner we have hamburgers and they were delicious!
On Saturday we went swimming and we took Charge and Coco to the park.
On Sunday we went to the shop with Charge and Coco and we have a relaxing afternoon on the deck.

Weekend with Summer!
On Friday we came home with Summer. We went on the tramp, after Summer and her family had built it!
On Saturday we went with Summer's family to look at a house in Oamaru, it's one that needs to be moved on a truck!
On Sunday we went to Summer's Nana's house and when we got home we went for a skate.
We had such a great time with Summer, can't wait to see who we are going home with next....

So who are Charge & Coco?
Hey guys
I wanted to tell you a bit more about these two, so here we go...
Charge is a happy go lucky Rhino and Coco, is a quirky monkey. They both come from Bangkok, Thailand and are loving living a quiet life in the Junior Room at Karitane School.
They have travelled so far to come and see us and will be staying for the rest of the year. They want to visit everyone in the Junior Room's home and have some adventures with some great Kiwi families.
Here is what they have to say about their time here so far...
Sawatkah (hello) Karitane School!
Well we had such a big trip to get here. We travelled on three planes and those plane rides were long, we were really tired when we got here. Once we got to Mrs Williams house we slept for two days straight! Man did we need the sleep, that place where the bags go in the airplane is SO noisy and there was NO FOOD!
We were so excited to meet the Junior Room that we went to school on the Saturday before school started and decided to stay there for the weekend. It meant that we could find a place to sleep and make the room our home.
Here is a bit about us.
I'm Charge the Rhino. I am 7 years old and I like to run at trees and each grass. I met Coco when I first went to Thailand. He helped me to find a place to live and a school to go to. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and seeing lots of your beautiful country.
Hi there! I'm Coco the Monkey. I am 7 years old too and I love to eat banana's and spend my time swinging in the trees, which is funny because most of the time Charge keeps trying to knock me out of them. I was born in Thailand and am really looking forward getting to know everyone.
